Welcome to my site and now a little about me, my books and inspiration.

Jessica is my pen name for my historical romances. When writing about people and places hundreds of years ago you really have to be another self! 

​

Although my name is a pseudonem I am surrounded by very real historical trappings of my novels. 

​

My home, from where I am writing this, is in the Scottish Border Country. The actual border is only a couple miles away as the crow flies.

​

Having been born and raised in this wild and beautiful countryside, the remanats of its turbulent past are familiar sights. Medieval castles, fortified Bastle houses and defensive towers are common place. 

​

Visiting these places, some now only ruins, I can walk in the footsteps of knights, Lords, medieval ladies, rievers and even kings.

​

I use the real geography, and quite often real places in my books, as this grounds them in the rich tapestry of this land.

​

Similarly, I also use real historical events as a backdrop and endevour to maintain as much historical integrity as possible. You wont find potatos appearing in my medieval kitchens!

 

I have modernised the language - trying to write and read Middle English is an aquired art.

​

I aim to produce beautiful romantic fantasy in a realistic historical setting.
